We are now in the process of reviewing our year of first-year algebra.
The Whittier Union High School District math assessment (a major criterion in math placement for next year) will occur Monday, May 9 for my Per. 6 honors class, and Tuesday, May 10 for my Per. 5 honors class. It is very important that students avoid appointments that afternoon, if at all possible, and clear their calendars for after-school. (Students will have roughly a hour and a half of class time to work on this test, but I will stay after school until 4:00 or so if they need additional time for this test. Students must complete this test in the same day.)
We will be on a block schedule Monday through Thursday this week (and next week, as well) for the language arts state standardized testing.
Period 5: I will next see you Wednesday, 5/4. Your homework is an entrance ticket to this Friday's quiz. Extra credit: the RTQ (Released Test Questions) packet, problems 66-94. Copies of this last portion of the CST released test questions will be available in my room beginning at lunch tomorrow (5/3).
Period 6: I will next see you Tuesday, 5/3. Your homework due Tuesday is problems 33 -65 from the RTQ packet, and an entrance ticket to this Friday's quiz. Extra credit: the RTQ (Released Test Questions) packet, problems 66-94. Copies of this last portion of the CST released test questions will be available in class tomorrow.
Both classes, your next memorization quiz on key algebra concepts is Friday, May 6.
