We are now in the process of reviewing our year of first-year algebra.
The Whittier Union High School District math assessment (a major criterion in math placement for next year) will occur Monday, May 9 for my Per. 6 honors class, and Tuesday, May 10 for my Per. 5 honors class. It is very important that students avoid appointments that afternoon, if at all possible, and clear their calendars for after-school. (Students will have roughly a hour and a half of class time to work on this test, but I will stay after school until 4:00 or so if they need additional time for this test. Students must complete this test in the same day.)
We will be on a block schedule Monday through Thursday this week (and next week, as well) for the language arts state standardized testing.
Period 5: I will next see you Wednesday, 5/4. Your homework is an entrance ticket to this Friday's quiz. Extra credit: the RTQ (Released Test Questions) packet, problems 66-94. Copies of this last portion of the CST released test questions were made available in my room at lunch Tuesday, 5/3. If you did not pick up a copy, I will have it for you in class Wednesday, 5/4.

Both classes, your next memorization quiz on key algebra concepts is this Friday, May 6.
