We are now in the process of reviewing our year of first-year algebra.
Several parents have contacted me about whether the WUHSD math assessment is taken at the high school or in my classroom. Although I've been discussing it for a long time with my students, I apologize for the lack of clarity here. The test will be given in my classroom, not at the high school:
The Whittier Union High School District math assessment (a major criterion in math placement for next year) will occur Monday, May 9 for my Per. 6 honors class, and Tuesday, May 10 for my Per. 5 honors class. It is very important that students avoid appointments that afternoon, if at all possible, and clear their calendars for after-school. (Students will have roughly a hour and a half of class time to work on this test, but I will stay after school until 4:00 or so if they need additional time after school for this test. Students must complete this test in the same day.)
We will be on a block schedule Monday through Thursday this week (and next week, as well) for the language arts state standardized testing.
Both classes: Please remember that you have the key concepts quiz tomorrow, Friday, 5/6. There is a final entrance ticket for this quiz when you come in on Friday. Extra credit: the RTQ packet, problems 66-94.
